Between 1993 and 1999, one man robbed 29 financial institutions in Budapest. Never physically harming anyone, the only clue he would leave behind was the distinct aroma of whiskey leading the media to christen him The Whiskey Bandit. A Transylvanian immigrant, who also happened to be a goalie for one of Budapest's largest hockey teams, Attila Ambrus also known as Viszkis was finally identified as The Whiskey Bandit. The police finally captured him…or so they thought.
